Advice on DSLR Set-up and/or Lenses

Hi Stella,

I'll put in the Sony A200 with kit lens for about $400.

Add one of the Minolta "vintage" AF lenses - a 70-210mm f4 (known as the "Beercan") for another $200 and you're in business!

Not really an ideal setup for portraits.

some of these companies that sell cheap cameras are scam sites. Sonic Camera's comes to mind.

Thanks, Joe. I'd use my credit card to be able to dispute any problems that come up, rather than sending cash or debit, but thanks for the reminder.

OASN, when I bought my Panasonic from 6ave.com, I actually got a phone call from the merchant to make sure I knew to look for it in the mail and to confirm address, and then another call to make sure it arrived in good condition. I was impressed by their customer service, even though I know part of that was really looking out for themselves.

70-200 is fine if you have room. The longer the focal length the less the distortion.
