    Great shot. You gotta be careful though, that you protect your nuts.

    Ahhh, nice one! Great eye contact, and I like the crop you chose. (The crop of the pic, that is, not the crop of nuts you set out)

    Nice detailed shot of an interesting looking bird! Is he able to get those big nuts thru them little holes tho? (no double-meaning intended, serious question)

    He has to break the nuts up as do all the smaller visitors to nut holders as they are designed so as to prevent choking as well as being fairly claw friendly. The woodpecker has a tongue designed to seek out grubs hidden below the bark of trees, whilst his green cousin tends to drill holes in the lawn seeking ants and leather-jackets in the grass - as I posted a couple of days before this one.
