I got one of these last month and really am happy with the purchase. I makes quite a difference. My question is what would it's limit be considered in the size of a group that you could successfully use it alone with? It is more than adequate for 1-3 people, but that is as large a group as I have tried it with and then was only using about 1/8 power. So what would the upper limit be? Say I had a party of 8, would it be adequate for that?

for large groups it's almost necessary to have two strobes so that you get even lighting. two sb800s (one on each side) could easily handle a very large group of people. It isn't a matter of power, it's a matter of light falloff. if you have a nice big reflector im pretty sure you could light a family of 5-8 with a single strobe. I wouldnt push it with more than that though.
