Alienbee users/other monolight users...

What about the Sekonic 308B? It would save me about 60-70 bucks.

Sekonic L-358 FLASH MASTER

It is the one I use and I think just about every photographer I know owns a Sekonic 358. It a work horse of a meter and you will only need to buy it once.

I am not sure about everyone, but that is the one that I use and when I go to an average strobist meet, about 75% of all light meters brought are that very model, so it is popular.

A nice touch... if you ever decide to go the Pocket Wizard route, this meter either can come with or you can add as a module later, a transmitter that can set off your PW triggered lights.

It is very accurate and reliable, those are the 2 things that I like most about it.
 
something minor to consider is the actual w/s on the different alienbees lights.

B400 = 160w/s
B800 = 320w/s
B1600 = 640w/s
