The shot would be improved if the camera was swung a little to the right & up so as not to crop off the petal of the second flower & eliminate some dead space far left.

Much, much better. Either the third edit in the original post or the last edit you posted by itself works for me. 100 times better than the selective color and I actually really like the photo now.
