Seems to be just coincidence, though. According to Wikipedia, the name does, indeed, come from a common misspelling of "googol", rather than the play on "go ogle"

Also, Google's headquarters are called the "Googleplex", a play on Googolplex (10^googol or 10^10^1000). How clever of them
