We're on our annual vacation to Sarasota Florida to watch the Cincinnati Reds do their spring training. I grabbed a couple of quick ones today. The first one is of my grandparents and their friends by the pool at sunset. Special thanks to John Stuedle for loaning me a SB800 when mine died 4 days before leaving for Florida. This one is a SB600 on a stand with a shoot through umbrella to the camera left. ISO 200 27mm f/2.8 1/15

Second one is of my daughter in the morning. Flash filled, converted to B&W with PS

There's not enough modelling in the first to make it look much different to on camera flash. Try moving the light further to the side.
