Yep lots of new glass this year - best thing is that a lot of it is high quality releases!
Speaking as a Canon shooter the new 800mm is very impressive - being lighter than the 600mm canon by 2kgs! I wonder if they intend to update their other super teles with lighter versions. Such a move would be fantastic for wildlife and sports shooters - many currently bypass the 600mm and go for 500 or even 400mm simply as they are lighter lenses (cost might have something do to with it as well......
).
Sigma also made waves with their 50mm though its marred a little with some saying that it has focusing issues
