Being a bit of a 'gadget man' I have a habit of upgrading my gear whenever anything new comes out. My "other half" has told me I'm spending too much on my hobby, and it looks like the only way I'm going to get anything new is to make my photos pay a little. I'm not really into commercial stuff, but I've done some research and it looks like I may make a few dollars on the stock photography sites.

There are so many of them, with reams of terms and conditions - are there any recommendations you have ... or warnings!

I have just started using http://www.totallyphotos.com they seem good, and as they are a new site and just starting up they are keen for new photographers.

I'm still waiting for my first sale - although I only uploaded my first photo a couple of days ago ....

I'll let you know what happens.

Please do. I've been thinking about selling some pictures but then there is the fear of not making as much money as you used for your account.

I sell stock photos on a few sites and it is kinda fun but the money is not gonna be big. to actually make a decent amount of money you have to have literally thousands of approved photos and you have to have a good variety of pics. The photos also have to be approved to be sold, the reviewers will reject a photo for many reasons like, too many on site allready, bad composition and digi noise. its a fun thing to try so go for it but dont expect millions hehehe.

    try this site: http://submit.shutterstock.com/?ref=3790

That's one of the things I liked about http://www.totallyphotos.com was that there was no account fee - so even if I only sell a couple of photos I'll be happy :D
