Anatomy of an HDSLR Rig

I thought this was a cool article by Calumet. It gives you some insight into what is needed, or often used, in DSLR's being used for video production.

They're missing a follow focus mechanism. It's hard enough trying to manually focus, trying to do wo while stabilizing the camera isn't going to work. Even on a tripod, the left to right twist on most lenses would have some kind of pull on the setup that would be seen in the video itself.

You know that surprises me Gary - especaily as you do a lot of work with moving subjects in dogs and showjumping. I would have thought you would have been one interested in capturing a moving image as well as stills. *unless you've already bought your expensive video cam ;) )
