I see bulldurham got here first to post. He was fortunate enough to be there on Friday, when the sun was out! I have a real job and couldn't make it on Friday.....
Saturday was a long day with several rain delays, with good ceiling and visibility in between for short periods. Mid-afternoon the weather finally moved off and we had mostly sort of sunny for the F-22 demonstration and the Thunderbirds. There was plenty of humidity for big vapor from the F-22 though!
Sunday had no rain but was overcast all day, with times of almost-below-minimum ceiling. More performers got to fly, but some had to modify with no verticals.
Quick Silver, one of three (!) P-51s that was here this weekend
1.
Double Trouble two
2.
Crazy Horse 2 on takeoff
3.
Some old jets! First a T-33
4.
5.
And a MIG-17
(I don't think the Soviets had figured out jet nozzles yet.....)
6.
That IS an afterburner flame! Adds about 2500 pounds of thrust to the approximately 5000 from the base engine. It's enough, though; this pass was .93 Mach!
7.
A short burst of sunshine on Saturday
