She is beautiful!

You're quite lucky to have a little girl that's so photogenic. I'm sure you will have TONS of opportunities to get some great shots as she's growing up too!! :D

Very cute! It might just be me but it looks like you might have just missed the focus on her eyes. I think her nose looks nice and sharp and her eyes and mouth are ever so slightly out of focus. Are you using the 50mm wide open at f/1.8? Don't be afraid to use a higher ISO so that you can bump that up to around f/4 maybe. That way the focal range is a little larger and you don't miss the focus just by breathing. :)

To build on what Ajay said, look at the DOF calculations below. With the settings you used. ISO 100 and F2, your DOF was about one inch total.

Higher ISA, smaller f stop, greater DOF.

Camera Make: Canon
Camera Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
Image Date: 2008:03:31 04:27:27
Flash Used: No
Focal Length: 50.0mm
CCD Width: 22.28mm
Exposure Time: 0.0020 s (1/500)
Aperture: f/2.0
ISO equiv: 200
White Balance: Auto
Metering Mode: Matrix
Exposure: aperture priority (semi-auto)
