Hallo Lysskers, welcome to ThePhotoForum (hallo Ronin, too, you are also quite new).
COngratulations to your being an uncle (?) or aunt (?) now!
The first really is a timeless photo. Very nice, and one more that makes me wish I had been more "into photography" by the time I was with my children.

The second sports a cute position, very, very infantlike, and I do appreciate the natural window light, but all in all find it a bit flat, and a bit dark ... it is a personal thing, I assume, but I like infants on bright, fluffy backgrounds to enhance their own delicacy and softness. I feel this sofa does not do the young age of your niece all the justice she would merit.
