So basically you are bidding $55.00. That is the average going price for a poor to average grade US half cent coin.

Numismatically yes. But you can take any age US coin and take it to a knowledgeable bank and they'll give you the Face Value no problem, albeit a half cent you may need two.

I will be glad to send you a new US penny for you 1/2 cent. I have one and would like a pair. I am also looking for a second Spencer Clark fractional 5 cent note.
