Anyone watches the "The Flash" on CWTV?

Since professor Wells reveals himself as the Reverse Flash, why he was so compassionate in the beginning and helping the Flash to rescue innocent people? Sounds like he has a split personalities.

Because without the flash, he can't get back to the year he is from. And to do that- he (eobard thawne) stole Wells identity to make sure Barry becomes the flash. In him helping people, he makes sure that he becomes faster and faster so that he can eventually break the time continuum. Hence, being able to return home.

I always found flash to be lame. I mean running fast is a bit of a lame super powers, I mean it's no aqua man but it's close.
