Anyone works or owns a cable company?

I'm working on an IPTV project for school and it has been impossible to find any information related to where they get the signal/content from, what companies provide or resell channels, etc, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry, but the answer to that is going to be very long and involved. Time Warner etc etc are the usual sources for films and such, but you've also got the likes of HBO, Star, Sky as sources, all of which are pretty much syndicated across the globe these days. One thing you can be sure of is that the cable company will almost certainly rely on satellite feeds of one source or another. All depends who the particular cable company is allied with etc etc.
