I am proud to say that most of my product photography is on the computer at work. I will have to burn a cd, maybe. I love Softbox and Speedotron lighting. But... I haven't used that set up in years. I shoot with 2 "Hot" lights and a ton of foamcore. In either case; it is all about what I call giving "chape"(shape) to the product. I start with a bounce of the ol' famcore for the main light and then open the shadows accordingly.
I give the main light the utmost consideration. Take time in positioning it to show off the products "form". That may be a little dramatic, but you get the idea. I am definetly rambling.
So here is an availble light one that I set up about six inches from the imac. I shot about 50 of them. The sun was setting and moving fast. I chose this one for the way it lit up the center of the flower. I am not terribly fond of it because I always go seamless. let me know
