Hi Carl,
I really like your first picture - I know next to nothing about portrait photography (or any other kind :blushing: ) but I think this is spot on for a portrait. The composition works well for me as it is a less usual view but still manages to get all the features you need to know what it is. I think a simpler frame would have shown it off to even better effect though, I'm not keen on this one.

The second and third - I prefer the 3rd I think. It looks like a crop, because it is slightly grainy? but I think the detail of his eyes looking off to the side is great. The B&W version is a little soft for my eyes.

I haven't been down to London for a while, thanks for sharing these with us .
