Backyard bird

First try at some wildlife photos with a mocking bird kind enough to sit still for me. C&C welcome.

first shot had the better lighting on the bird - though the leaves in the forground distract and I think the head looks odd (I think the focus is possible ever so slightly off the head and more on the breast of the bird)

The second shot is much clearer and shows great head and eye details - maybe you could try a localised boost to the brightness on the eye - just to bring it out a bit more as the shadowing hides part of it

Thanks for the input Overread. I agree about the foreground leaves in #1, but I liked that he was looking straight at me. Not sure what happened on the focus, but when I tried to sharpen it is just didn't look right. Oh well, live and learn.
