I suppose a video camera is the best way to capture the beauty of wind blowing across a field of barley - but that didn't stop me trying with my still camera! It was a dull and breezy day, and I hadn't got my ND filters with me, so it was f22 and everything else necessary to get a slow shutter speed. Does it work?

I really like it. I think it would make a nice print for a wall.

There was an article in PopPhoto about a guy who does shots like this a couple of months ago and I've wanted to try it ever since. One thing he did that you might want to consider trying is he found a static, unmoving subject like a rusted car, so it was solid in the picture while it's grass surroundings were blurred.

Thats nice, I like the effect, I agree that it would be even more effective with a static object in the picture too.

Thanks Rachelsne. Thanks for that thought Plentygood - I like the idea!

Regards, Tony
