I really like #1! I definitely like the texture and negative space, and as fjrabon said, the tree is really important for balance.

Yes, #1 for balance and also because there's more dark sky pressing down on the little trees and barn.

I prefer the one with the tree on the left, comp has better balance and I like the extra darkness of the sky. Oh btw really like this!

That space seems to really add more depth to the sky and hence the photo

Yeah, the difference between 1&2 is so stark that this would make an excellent pair of images for teaching a student the importance of image balance.

I would crop both to a panorama aspect. Chop off all the plain sky area.

well dare i say it I preferred 2, i thought this was more balanced
