    i was suposed to take some pics for my friends christmas cards this past saturday but they didn't show up so here is what i did playing around while i was waiting for them.

    the skies are blown out in them all except 2 which is pretty cool

    sorry for being such a noob but what do you mean by the skies are blown out? and what do i need to do to fix this problem?

    learn how to properly shoot into the sun... its no easy task..

    I'm a noob myself so lets see what the pros say about this...
    in #1 you used
    Exposure Time: 1/1000 sec
    ISO Speed Rating: 80
    Lens Aperture: f/9.0

    Maybe if you increased the ap to f/16 or 22 and possibly went up on the ISO...

    just take alot more shots next time and changing the settings and seeing how it changes your pixs thas the only way to truly learn.

    wow 2 is pretty sweet but i would suggest putting the focus on the sand closer to the camera. it doesnt appear to have the sharpest focus

    i love how its an adio skater shoe for a nice pretty picture hahahah. but try and get some sky shots without the actual sun in them, blown out just means theres a huge bright spot and becomes the main purpose of the photo.

    I like #2 - I would probably go with less DOF though
