To continue with the whole "everyone has a story", this family has had their fair share! Mom was diagnosed with Krohns disease 2 years ago, so they moved in with in-laws to have help. While there, dad was diagnosed with Leukemia. This past summer, they almost lost him. The kids have gone through bouts of fear of being left with anyone. They're scared that mom and dad won't come back. But, here they are today . . . beautiful, healthy (at least all conditions are under contro) and very happy! There's quite a few pics, I had a hard time deciding which ones to post. And, they were the first group that I used my backdrop on outside of family!

enjoy!

Great shots - I love #5!

Thanks for the kind words on the pics!

so, is it the color of the backdrop that is off? I was thinking about getting more like it in a few different colors. Is it just that specific color? do I buy more or no . . .

Yes, great pictures, but the backdrop isn't working for me either. I think it's ok in B&W, but the print looks old. Maybe it's because of the color, but are there any other patterns?

For me, its the color and the pattern (tie dye) through it. #2 & 4 looks like they have a halo/ring over there heads. With a different backdrop they would be great.

I agree on the backdrop. when you used your longer lens it wasn't as bad because the tie dye wasn't as noticeable, but I think more of a flat color would be nicer here. Solid colors are going to be much more timeless as well.

i agree, i have always preferred seamless backdrops. i love the tighter shots of the kids, especially with the bare feet. on the group shots however, i would suggest not using a wide angle. back up more and put on a tele, or at least 50mm and shoot tighter. it will take away the stretchy look you are getting in the first 4 and in 8.

I love the pictures and the family is adorable, but that backdrop... meh.

Still beats that old "bookcase" looking backdrop I have seen so many times.

Definitely a cute family, I like the smiles. That Chron's Disease is nasty stuff, can really be debilitating if serious enough (my nephew has it). Best of luck to the mom.

Don't know about all the bare feet, and the boy should have tucked in his shirttail.
