Beauty Dish for Flash Head?

Hello everyone. I am a beginning photographer, but I also do videos.

But what would I need for a light? I read somewhere that this was compatible with flash heads. Does that mean that it is not a continuous light?

It depends on the material. The biggest problem of putting that on a continuous light is you need more than 150-200watts to get something usable out of an aptly named hot-light. If the dish can survive it and the light fits then I'm sure it is usable. Flash light is favoured though since it doesn't generate heat, so if that dish is plastic you can forget hot-lights.
