Even a fly

f16, ISO 200, 1/200sec

taken with Sigma 150mm macro, sigma 1.4 teleconverter and Raynox DCR 250.
Flash was held in right hand and camera in left (one handed shooting is darn hard - though its easier I find with the left hand and the gap between thumb and finger cradling the lens barrel). A common fly sitting on my window - which made focusing easier as I was able to lean on the window for some support - but of course it does limit my working angles for lighting and camera - but its worked very well in this case.

thanks :)
f16 is the aperture I used for this shot - and yes depth of field at this magnification is that small! Its why focus stacking is popular in this area of macro work as even in the shot above you can see clearly that the depth of field fails to cover even the whole face of a fly

wow. so sharp. very very nice.

"Beauty in all things" indeed!...Just wait till summer rolls around and he's all over your hot dog! Seriously though it's a great shot, love the detail.

that is a very good shot... so sharp
