Beaver

These pictures were taken in an area called Sibbald Flats which is about 55 kilometers west of Calgary and just east of Kananaskis Country and Banff. There is a stream that runs through the area and there are several Beaver dams on it.

This will give you an idea of what the terrain is like. It's in the foothills but the Rocky Moutains are only a few kilometers to the west

Here is the beavers den and the beaver. They are usually not to be seen so it was a real treat as this one swam around for about 10 minutes.
