Bees in Flight

    There were some bees hovering in the garden one weekend, so I took a few hundred pictures with my compact. Getting the focus right was a challenge...

    Erm, maybe - I don't know what hoverflies look like.

    From a bit of research on the web, I'm still not sure. The insect looks furry just like a honey bee, yet it hovers and darts about like a hoverfly. Apparently, some hoverflies mimic bees as way of protection.
