Just because a monitor is calibrated in the factory doesn't mean it's still in calibration when you get it though. And monitors age so they need regular calibration to stay accurate. So yes you should get a coloromiter and re-calibrate your screen regularly if you want accurate colour.

I Think the issue with the change in colour is because you are changing colour space. In lightroom there is an option for Soft Proofing which will give you a preview of your image in an sRGB colour space.

And if the ambient lighting where your display sits is different from the ambient lighting the factory used to 'calibrate' the display, the factory calibration is off for your use.
Plus not all browsers/software applications/devices are 'color aware' or calibrated to any standard.

In addition, not all display devices display the same range of colors.
 
I have a BENQ IPS monitor that I use without issue.
however, I use a colormunki display and have it set to automatically adjust for ambient light.
I also re-calibrate every few weeks.
