A long time repeat customer of my wife recently made an unusual request.
I say unusual because I had never heard of this before, but thankfully my wife was familiar with something called a bereavement bear, or memory bear. (or, another animal of choice I guess)
Her husband, an ex-Marine (although I'm told there is no such thing) and forensic investigator, very recently passed away, secondary to an acute myocardial infarction. She contacted my wife about making 10 of these bears out of his work shirts for the family to carry at the funeral.
She has a week to get the ten bears made.
this is the first bear made from one of his work polos.
The name tag (edited of course) and embroidered badge was used as patches. the rank and dates were embroidered by my wife before assembly.
She was able to get a 14" bear (from bear butt to top of head) out of one polo shirt.
