I was wondering what the best file extension was for print, and what the best file extension is for web?

I plan on wharhousing my photos online either at smugmug (not member yet) or on Flickr (pro member).... and would like family members to not only few a nice pic but also decide to purchase or not.

All of the web is JPEG and the sRGB color space, some browsers can handle the AbobeRGB color space, but only some. AdobeRGB images (or other color space images) on a sRGB capable browser don't look so hot.

Most print labs also want JPEG, sRGB but a few can handle TIFF's. They still prefer the JPEGs because they have smaller file sizes.

Click here to read how one popular online lab, Mpix, suggests images be prepared for printing.
