yes, get a Canon mirrorless - small, lightweight, and pocket-size (some models)
and mirrorless can easily use EF and the small crop EF-S lens

the camera and 22mm f/2 pancake can even fit in your shirt pocket !

Panasonic GM1 with the 12-32 lens - very compact and very good at high ISO.

I would say okay at higher ISO. Hardly very good. A small camera good at high ISO is the RX1R ii
 
I did an entire vacation in Taos with a Nikon Coolpix A. Some images got published from that venture!
