Best way to Crop This Photo.

okay, i've been playin around with this shot i took last weekend and i cant decide which crop looks best (if any;) ) so, here is the original:

and heres the 3 different crops i was thinking of:

This one has the same ratio of a 6 x 4 print.

I cant decide which one i like best. Which do you prefer? (or what other way would you crop it?)

I think I like the last one because of the great sky. #3 isn't bad.
 
I also vote for 1. The sky is great, sky and mountains are great, keeping some of the shadow gives a nice contrast without drawing the eye away from the best parts.
 
Hi stanthecaddy.

I wonder if your original intent was to have some strong foreground interest....and you later realised that the centre placement of the rock (and it being so dark) led you to think cropping was the way to recover something from the shot. All the crops have some considerable merit, but none have the foreground interest (IMHO) and hence the difficulties with balance. Just an opinion. I bet the air was sweet there. Ahhhhh.

Number 2, I don't find the sky particularly interesting.
