Greetings everyone!
After wearing out my ancient Canon T-50, I purchased my Canon 40D two years ago and more than 15,000 photos later I figure I had better reach out and learn all I can.
I have entered one photo contest so far, and a museum display on atmospheric phenomena, the contest won honorable mention and inclusion in a photo book and the museum display accepted two of my sky shots for showing.
I am eager to learn all I can about photography to sharpen my skills, because I am woefully ignorant about the traditional aspects of photography, having cut my picture-taking 'teeth' on automatic exposure cameras.
I also want to gain a better perspective on what judges look for, because with many thousands of photos to choose from, I need to whittle the choices down to my best work.
My primary focus is nature and pet photography, with a special interest in atmospheric phenomena (rainbows, halos, arcs cloud formations, etc.)
I love seeing other people's work and can't wait to view your photos!
