Hi all. I just finished this short film for the final chapter (Chapter 7) of the Beyond the Still competition over at Vimeo.

I really put my Rebel T2i's video mode through its paces and filmed it in a wide variety of focal lengths using a Canon 50mm f/1.8 and Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8.

The Tamron has fantastic image stabilization and I was able to make some handheld shots taken in tight circumstances look pretty legit with the AE tracker.

In extremely low light the Tamron doesn't stop down enough though. It's a great lens for documentary work and when you need to adjust your focal length on the fly, and all the way up to about an hour after Golden Hour. But at night with street lights, unless you're in a major urban center, it doesn't cut it.

(Have a Sigma 20mm f/1.8 on the way as of today!!)

The contest is in a serial form, with each of the seven chapters building off one another. So, if this doesn't make enough sense on its own, all of the other chapters are available on the Vimeo contest page.

At any rate, here it is. Thoughts welcome!
