really nice photo's.
Dont know what the first one is, huge bird by the looks of it :). But the second one is a bateleur....and a young one to. The mature ones are totally black and the beaks and skin around the eyes is bright red. But i like em better when they are young.
Anyways, great captures :D

Thanks for the kind replies,
They were taken at a local Bird of Prey sanctuary.
The first one is a Steppes Eagle.
Both were taken with my Sigma 50-500mm.
Here is the exif stuff if your interested.

#1, Sigma 50-500mm @ 500mm, F/6.3, 1/320sec, ISO 400
#2, Sigma 50-500mm @ 320mm, F/6.3, 1/640sec ISO 400

Cheers
Bob

both are excellent portrait shots, of a great subject! You can almost see the reflection in the eyes of the first bird.

Brilliant shots. Love em. Very well done.

Just stunning! I've been semi-addicted :blushing: to a couple of eagles' nests sites, watching eaglets grow and learn to fly. It was fascinating, but I kept wanting the webcam to zoom in closer. Your images are just drop-dead gorgeous.

great shots... amazing.
