Blue Heron at the Cottage
Amazing shot and a beautiful creature. The colors in the rocks and water add strong interest.
For some reason many of the rocks being almost the same color as 2/3rds of the bird is somewhat distracting. It, the rocks, draws me away from the subject. I understand you didn't have a whole lot of choice here. Maybe I'm being a little too picky.
Railman44 you are not being too picky. The unique thing about outdoor wildlife shots compared to landscape or indoor still is, you really are not in as much control, but the satisfying thing is that your picture is the only one that will look exactly like it. To me it is a moment in time that only you own.
I totally agree Canoncan, you have true talent in just being able to put yourself in a position for a shot like this! very amazing! I love the shot! and having spent so much time in Ontario's north, I can relate to your experience. Watch out for those rocks ahead!!! hehehe
