Since I had a Tair 135/2.8 11A, fellow TPF'er Byron Brant needed one too. His showed up the other day with some internal dust. It also has a threaded mount, so he's waiting for a Nikon F mount adapter. So we met up for lunch today so I could take his copy home with me to disassemble it and clean up the internal dust and a bit of oil on the blades.

That done, I thought I'd have some fun with it. First up: A 'Pair of Tairs' (something you've never seen before!):

Plus, while I had it apart, I took a quick (porn) video for all you bokeh hounds to drool over:

OK, now go get a towel and clean off your keyboard!!!!!!!

Not a lot of Russian lenses being used these days. Nice find, eBay?

Where's the paper towel when you need it?

I have one too:

I have compared it directly to my Tamron SP 70-200 VC and while it's not quite as sharp (close) the background blur is much more pleasing, smoothed out, and transitions better.

Make a Nikon mount list and I might join. Would be a cool thread.

What is a 'Nikon mount list'? The lenses are t-mount. You get an adapter for any camera mount you want. Pentax, Minolta, Nikon, Olympus, screw etc.

yeah, it's a simple screw on mount. i need to get the ID specs because the Russian one I have (seen in the above pics) fits perfectly on an old vivitar 24mm f/2.5 I have as well -- so probably can source them locally if the lens doesn't come with one.

Once you replace the threaded mount for a Nikon one, you have full infinity-focus range.

They are pretty easy to find on eBay if youre willing to buy from the Ukraine or Russian Fed.

Hella-Quick AF too:

The correct Nikon adapter. The first one I bought didn't maintain infinity focus.

I'd be interested in knowing what the proper is if it's not any trouble.
