Can anyone suggest a good book for a newbie photographer? I just got my first DSLR and want to get out of auto sooner than later. TIA

Understanding Exposure, 3rd Edition: How to Shoot Great Photographs with Any Camera by Bryan Peterson
Composition: From Snapshots to Great Shots by Laurie S. Excell

ansel adams - the camera is a really good description of how cameras work ect. i really like that one.
