Bored of herons yet?

    So I stopped at the pond on the way home. I was just in time to see this Black Crowned Night Heron fly up about 20 feet into a tree nearby. Today was definitely a fine day for herons.

    Are those Night Herons ever on the ground. Every time I've seen one it's up a tree. Nice clear shot, great red eye.

    sweet night heron. The only one I've ever gotten a photo of was at a zoo... I was like 10' away from it though, so it's a pretty boss photo.

    Thanks! I see a lot more juveniles than adults, but we have a fair number out here.

    I am super excited to take the new 70-200 out to my usual place and get some new bird shots.

    Ian,I for one,Never get tired of Herons.Neither looking at them or taking there photo.
    Keep them coming!these are great
