This:

Some shots from Boston's Fan Pier area and others just driving and walking around.. Some are terrible because they were shot through a dirty windshield, but I wanted to let those of you who have never been here see a little what the old city is like:

hum .. close to 40 photos in one page ... maybe too much for people who have a slow internet connection. A warning on the title will be nice. :)

Way to many photos in here give a warning perhaps in the title and I can't really cc on them because there are so many but in 10 the car is very distracting overall good pics though.

Almost all are snap shots really. And wayyyy to many photos. Most of the photos you posted your subjects are cut off and centered.

As I indicated, it was just an attempt to allow people to get a feel for Boston.. It wasn't put up for critique, but comments on the individual pictures is more than welcome, not, "What a bunch of crappy snapshots.."

I pretty much told you that they weren't great in my opening. Hope you enjoyed seeing a bit of Boston, anyway.

I love architecture and many of the older buildings in Boston are beautiful. However I REALLY hated driving there LOL. What do you guys have against blocks anyway

Hey, I HATE EVERYTHING about New England.. I'm an Indiana boy, but I'm trapped here by paternity.. I just tried to see some inteesting sights and capture some character of Boston.. The old building with the fire escape completely ruining the face of it makes me chuckle.. There is some beautiful old architecture, but the fact that two left-hand turns doesn't ensure that you're going the opposite way is infuriating! It's like the city streets were designed by a child with an Etch-a-Sketch..

My GPS refuses to talk to me when I go into Boston.. When we get outside the city limits it says, "That's better."

Yeah I hear ya there. I drove ambulance for a while and had to transport people to Boston a few times. It was one of the most frustrating areas to drive in. I have a pretty good sense of direction thankfully and got out out of the city on two different trips

Boston is a cool city, but two things to note:

1- As mentioned already, the sheer number of photos and the snapshot compositions, but more importantly.....

2- FFS, learn to use the tilt/rotate tool.

The reason most of those is off tilted, is because you tried to level the subject of your shot. Sadly, that doesn't always work out the way you want it to. Correct the tilt in a few of those and they are keepers.

clearly not taken today....that aint the boston i looked at all day from my office window...lol :D

My count was at least 24 of the 39 on offer that needed to be addessed. How is that "trying to level the subject"? (and I was being generous for subjects..... vertical is vertical and horizontal is horizontal).

I said some. Not all. READ. The last photograph, for example, has the eyes of the horse ALIGNED horizontally, but the rest of the photo is at a tilt. Combine that with using the wide end of a lens will introduce more distortion. That says NOTHING about the shots that are most definitely off kilter.

Jesus. Some of you really need to stop replying just for the sake of replying.

It would have to be one huge fire for me to begin to go down one of those fire escapes from the top haha they would freak me out.

Wow, not one opinion of Boston, other than the streets are hard to navigate, which these pictures don't show..
