Cus my commute is full of traffic!

Waited for more than 2 months for my GT86 to be shipped to me from Japan. As of last Thursday night, I finally have my long missed set of wheels. 3 years without wheels for a car guy is like prison term! My commute by subway used to take 1h15min, and my car ride should take 40 in "normal" traffic, but over the past week, the "normal" hasn't happened yet. To put it in short, I spent 20min just to make a U-turn tonight.

I choose to buy a manual GT86 because I really miss the fun of driving a fun car. I know being stuck in traffic with a manual car sucks, but I still want the kick when I can. It's just that ever since I got the car last week, it's been nothing but miserable traffic. Weekend? It's been too busy these few months. I've been spending mine at work recently. This weekend is a goner. Looking forward to driving it on the freeway on my way to visit my grandparents next weekend!

Also, waiting for the good weather to come so I can take some decent photos of it!

Try driving a ~300awhp car 50 miles a day and averaging 40mph on a good day.

I've been debating selling my car for something a little more reasonable for my commute.

I am very jealous.

You need to move. I am lucky to see maybe 3 cars on my commute.

Did I mention I can take the long way to work and take a road the looks like a special stage?

Nice car! I'm sure you will find a piece of road needing driven upon very soon.

Well, there are lots of mountains here, just lack of time. Also, need to refrain myself from pushing the car too hard before the break-in is done.

Where are you again? IIRC it was a hot wet country, just not sure which one.

Flogging the frack out of it should be part of the break in, idling in traffic should not. ;)

I'm obssesed with keeping my mpg above a 23mpg average. If I flog around, I can easily get 12-15mpg a tank.

take it out at night when no ones around nor awake.
And have some fun.

In the late 80s I used to take my 86 Escort GT out at night and drive some excellent curvy/hilly roads in the area which can really only be done at night with no traffic. Then later on I upgraded to a Mustang Cobra :) And still did night drives.

Back when I had my stage 2 wrx wagon I'd be lucky to get above 15. As much as I love a sporty car it's just not practical anymore. With my current WRX I hardly get above 4k rpms anymore. I do wind it up occasionally but it's got 180k on the clock so I keeps things calm.

I'd only get about 5-9mpg on the track :(
24 on the highway in 5th doing 55.
