Well as the title says. I am brand new to photography. Here is a little background as to why I am here. I am in the Army and I am getting stationed in Germany, there is so much to see and do I figured I would get a decent camera for once.

I plan on doing some of the touristy type stuff traveling around Europe and such with my wife. So I would like to remember these times.

Anyway, onto equipment I know little to absolutely nothing about lenses and such. Camera body I am going with the Canon 30d, lenses is another story, I find stuff about L lenses and see what they produce and am impressed, but a buddy I know gave me this link Tamron Lens. Am I getting out to a good start or am I jumping the gun??

    I appreciate your help.

Oh! Has anyone ever used or heard of this site?
