Several times over the past few days when clicking on a photo in bridge to open it up in PS the PS freezes up, and I have to restart my computer.

It is CS3, and I am using a brand new iMAC.

    Anyone else having this problem?

    Thanks.

PS always slows my computer down. Sometimes if you wait it out (in my case a minute or two) it will start to respond again. Also when I use PS I close everything down and only have PS running.

get a computer with better specs. If you want great performance you should get 2 gigs of ram because photoshop for a lot of the previews and and rendering it does its uses your temporary memory (ram). and ofcourse you should get something with a faster processor too.

Depending what your current spec is, yeah a good processor, and plenty of ram is always good. Also condsider how full your hard drive is. I back as many of my photos up to keep my hard drive clear. The less files the quicker and smoother it runs.
