Just curious to get an idea of who bulk rolls their own film, and how many rolls you can get out 100 ft of film. Im looking at doing it myself for bw film now that I can develop my own film, it seems considerably cheaper than buying it by the roll.

Advise me, oh knowledgable ones

Hello

From a 100ft roll you would get 19 rolls of 36exp plus a short roll of ~15exposures.
Loading 36exp rolls is the most economical method, since that way you minimise the amount of film used for leaders.

The only real disadvantage of bulk loading is that your last frame will be fogged.

reminds me of my beginning photography class last year

we rolled our own tmax 200 and 400 b/w

my friend and i usually squeezed 40 useable exposures on 1 roll :p

as to how many you can get out of 100 feet...i am totally clueless :S

I bulk load all of my 35mm BW film. Last time I figured it out it was about 1/2 the price as normal.

don't count on 40 some rolls your first time, it takes time to get that efficient.
