butterflies on the east fork little pigon river

    Butterflys gather in great numbers in the Smokies this time of year- Here are a few not so good shots I took playing around with my 645, 80 mm lens and kodak 400 print film.

    I like two and three. as you know number one is quite blurry. My Grandfather lives in the Smoky Mountains, I hope to get there soon to take some photos. It is quite a beautiful place. Especially if you go hiking along a river (that is what the stream reminded me of).

    Wow, look at them all!! It must be an amazing sight to see so many fluttering around. Occasionally in the fall I see large numbers of Monarchs gathering for the flight south, and it's quite stirring. Looks like the ones in 3 were 'puddling' (drinking water)
