butterfly

    hi.

    comments please..

    shot with 80-200mm on d700 with mid day sun under a tree. cropped to 8R and did a bit of contrast and photoshop.

    i keep feeling something not rite with this photo and it doesnt gives you the feeling like it is a nicely taken photo.

    can share your thoughts please.. thanks

    I think it works nicely as an abstract photo. If you are trying to capture "butterfly" I think you need a lighter background as the body of the insect almost disappears leaving you with the patter on the wings. If you want to take it the abstract route, a closer crop, maybe even getting rid of the body and the black left hand side would leave you focused on the strong, contrasty patterns on the wings.

    I agree with jvgig and their suggestions for how you may change the photo slightly to please you more, but I think its a wonderful shot, I really like it :)
