Ok first of all I love and support B&H and Adorama.. I've purchased lenses and my Canon 20D with them (the camera B&H). BUT I'm in a bind...

I need a wide angle lens relatively soon (I've been looking into one for awhile now). I really want the Canon 10-22mm. I've found it from prices ranging from $549 to $750. I'd REALLY like to get it at the lowest price but I'm hesitant.. of course. I purchased a point and shoot from a place like these and it works and is great (Canon SD900) so I'm torn. Here are the three places offering it for $549:

Any opinions? Otherwise there's a used one at Adorama for I'm considering (even though it's $100 more) at E+ quality, but I'm not sure what exactly that says for the lens.

All 3 places are fraudulent. Sorry to break it to you!

Have you looked into the Sigma 10-20 new? The Canon is supposed to be better, but a lot of people have and love the Sigma (including me).

You can buy from them if you wish...but you won't get the lens at that price. It will be the "Plastic mount" and the metal mount will cost you $200 more and BTW it's out of stock. They are a scam. Stick to a reputable online dealer if that is your route. B&H's prices are fairly competitive.

For future reference the margins on lenses is tiny. If you can find prices lower than B&H that alone should be an alarm bell.

Go for the sigma 10-20mm

If you're ever not sure about a website you can check resellerratings.com. I would stick with B&H or adorama though, Ive never found anything cheaper than B&H.

I'm really torn on which to purchase! The Sigma 10-20mm or the Canon 10-22mm!? The f stop difference is what gets me.. I do a lot of low light photography.
Any suggestions?

Also Canon's prices are dropping from competition.. would it be safe to assume the price of this lens will fall a significant amount?

Some have said the Canon has more distortion than the Sigma (which I don't really mind, I like the artistic aspect this adds... even though some despise it). I've read a fair amount, I just have trouble committing to one!
