Well, over here in Australia it's the end of the financial year. That is, will be; around June.

So I'm getting a back up, the EOS 450D. It's a fair reasonable price, from a reputable dealer, with the twin lens kit at $1248 - cheap, considering other main stores are selling it at $1350+ (up to $1500). It's a verified and so forth website. No qualms about that.

But I'm still looking for a discount.

I think I can get 5% off by claiming it under business, under the new goverment rebate... unsure about this, though.

Would online sites reduce prices for the end of financial year? Or Canon, for that matter?

I mean, the 450D does have a successor... I don't think Canon would be producing this for much longer - halfway through the year, maybe.
