We were eating dinner and I looked out our sliding glass door that goes out to the deck and I noticed this giant, Chernobyl-born grasshopper outside. I grabbed my camera, stealthed up to it and snapped a few shots. C&C, please!

Not bad the grasshoppers upper-body and head seem a little out of focus though. Other then that there good.

Agree; always try and keep the eyes sharp if nothing else. Additionally (if you can) try and capture the animal coming toward you, rather than going away.

Agreed with Robi, head and legs look slightly out of focus. I like the first one better than the second, since he is turned away it takes away from him and the photo overall.

I see you're from Lancaster! I'm located a little outside of the Reading area. I'm actually in Millersville quite often (friends). Small world huh?

Small world indeed, rotch. This little bugger (pun intended) kep hopping away every time I got near him, which is why I could only get his hindquarters. Thanks for the input, all.
