Hello everyone,

Here are some shots i took at a baby dedication at my church that i volunteered to do. To tell you the truth i really dont like my shots...they're not as sharp and clear as i want them to be. There is some Lightroom PP. I just started messing around with it.

Now im not a pro by any means. I just wanted to be pointed in a direction that will make me a better photographer.

All shots were taken with a Canon Rebel XT with a sigma 28-70 F2.8-4 at the ISO cranked to 1600 because of the low light in the church. Well tell me what you guys think and what i can do to make them better

#2 might have been canted a bit to much, when I first looked at it, it made my head turn trying to connect to the picture.

#12 is a bit out of focus, but that can happen in low light situations, cannot really tell if it is in focus or not.

#4 The babies head is a tiny bit cut off but I don't think it is too much of a problem, remember to keep proper head room.

As for the rest I enjoyed them alot, nice work my friend! Keep it up!

#1 looks a little noisy.

There's a lot there to comment on, so I'll speak more generally. As a group, I think they're actually pretty nice. The compositions are interesting and you capture some emotions and such pretty well.

Focus could be a bit better now and again, and I think some of them are washed out a bit... but it almost looks as if it was intentional. Not sure. I would be interested to see more of the originals with less PP work. It's hard to comment on the original capture if you've done a lot of work on them since.

I agree with Manaheim. I do believe Lightroom should have a levels slider to play with if it is anything like CS/PS. You might try tweaking the washed ones that way. I like to start with the midtome slider first or, the one in the middle. Then move on to the white end of the tone. Also with the original you can play with the color channels after it has been desaturated for other effects.

Thanks everyone

Should i post the originals here or should i email them to you?
